About the contest
The contest is an opportunity for creatives from around the world to present videos and photographs that highlight humanitarian messages and showcase the reality of various communities. The goal is to inspire awareness and action through impactful visual content.
The contest is open to participants of all ages and nationalities. You do not need to be a professional to enter; anyone with a passion for photography and video can participate.
You can register by completing the registration form on our website. You need to create an account or log in if you already have one, and then follow the instructions to upload your videos and/or photographs.
- Videos no longer than 30 seconds.
- We prefer MP4 and MOV y WEBM.
- Your original videos free of copyright.
- Complete all required fields on the entry form: Title, description and tags.
- You agree to grant us a non-exclusive license to use, reproduce and distribute your video.
Yes, you can submit multiple entries.

Registration and selection
- Submission deadline: July 31, 2024 (23:59, Madrid time).
- Winners announcement: August 30, 2024.
The winners will be selected through a process of public voting, jury voting, and a final round of public voting.
The prizes will include recognition on our platform and participation certificates. Specific details about the prizes will be announced on our website.
Minors can be included as long as they are not identifiable, either because they are facing away, their faces are hidden, or their identity is otherwise indistinguishable.
Entries that do not meet the specifications will be disqualified. Please ensure you review all guidelines before submitting your work.
Videos that denigrate people will not be accepted. In any case, the organizer reserves the right to reject any video.

KALU will upload a selection of videos on Facebook and Instagram under the hashtag #kaluvideocontest2024. Share your videos on your social networks and invite your friends to vote.
Winners will be contacted within a month. They must indicate which organization the prize should be transferred to. If they do not, KALU will choose one. The beneficiary organization must explain what activities will be supported by the prize, comply with humanitarian principles, and be from a country not listed as a high-income economy. In any case, KALU reserves the right to reject a particular organization.
Participants guarantee that they have the necessary permits to submit their work to the contest and agree to share them under a CC BY-NC-ND license. Additionally, they agree that their videos will be part of an open photo and video stock that can be freely used by KALU Institute and the humanitarian community in general.
