Legal Bases

This contest has been organized by KALU INSTITUTE. The subject of the contest is “Humanitarian Response”. You can participate with one or several videos.
There are 3 prizes : 2.000 Euro for the winner and 1.000 for the 2nd and the 3rd.
50% of the prizes will be donated to a local humanitarian NGO of the participants’ choice, and the other 50% will go to the participant.
The contest will be held on the social networks of Kalu Institute on Facebook, Flickr and Instagram.
This contest is open: Students, former students, followers in social networks, the humanitarian community in general and anyone interested who meets the conditions of the contest and wants to participate.

To participate

  • The deadline to participate is July 31st 2024 (23:59 Madrid time).
  • Register and upload your videos at https://photo.kaluinstitute.org/
  • You can participate as many times as you want.
  • KALU will upload a selection of videos at Facebook and Instagram under #kaluvideocontest2024
  • Share your videos on your social networks and invite your friends to vote.
  • The selection of winners will be made after a process of public voting, jury voting and a final open to public voting again.

Other conditions

  • Minors may be included in the videos only if they are not recognizable, either because they are far away or because their identity is not distinguishable.
  • Videos that denigrate people will not be accepted either. In any case, the organizer reserves the right to reject any video.
  • Participants guarantee that they have the necessary permits to submit their work to the contest.
  • The participant accepts these bases by participating in the contest. Videos will be uploaded by the participants under a CC BY-NC-ND License and accept that their photos be part of an open photo and video stock that can be used freely by KALU Institute and the humanitarian community in general.

Collection and communication of the prize

  • The winners will be contacted within a month.
  • The winners should indicate to what organization we should transfer the prize. If they don’t, KALU will chose it. The organization beneficiary should explain what activities will be supported by the prize, comply with the humanitarian principles and be from a country not listed here as a high-income economy.
  • I any case, KALU reserves the right to reject a particular organization.
